Fortified Meat Loaf

Ingredients

1 – small onion, chopped

1 – tbs. olive oil

½ – pound lean ground beef

½ – pound ground dark meat turkey

2 – tbs. toasted wheat germ

1 – small can tomato paste

½ – cup water

½ – tbs. brewer’s yeast

1 – tbs. flax meal

1 – egg yolk, lightly beaten

1 – tbs. chopped parsley

1 – tsp. ground dried red chilies

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions

 Preheat oven to 350 degrees

 Sauté onions in olive oil until golden brown

 Combine onions and remaining ingredients, mix well

 Bake in a greased loaf pan for about 1 hour:

         top should be well browned
